At Macklowe Properties, Ian Klein directs the development of 737 Park Avenue and 150 East 72nd Street, where he is responsible for asset profitability, lender and investor relationships, and project execution. Mr. Klein also participates in the sourcing and structuring of investments for the firm, with a focus on public/private transactions.

Previously, Mr. Klein worked for New York City Economic Development Corporation’s (NYCEDC) Real Estate Transactions (“RETS”) Group, where he was responsible for the structuring and negotiation of $2bn+ in real estate transactions for the City of New York including the United Nations Expansion and the 1.6mm s.f. Willets Point Redevelopment Project. Prior to that, Mr. Klein was an Associate at Integrated Capital where he was responsible for managing the design, development and construction of over over 300,000 s.f. of ground-up residential and hotel development in New York City.

Mr. Klein holds a professional degree in Architecture (B. Arch.) from Cornell University, and completed advanced study in both urban design and real estate finance at Harvard University (M.A.U.D), where he graduated with distinction and received the school’s award for outstanding leadership. In addition to his professional work, Mr. Klein has also directed a series of academic research initiatives combining real estate, architecture, and urbanism and has appeared as a lecturer and critic at numerous academic institutions.
